I saw Topol in FOTR about thirty-five years ago. I was too young to really appreciate him, I thought Zero Mostel defined the role. Still, it was a wonderful time. Thanks for the clip, and for the memories! :-)

My Mom bought "Herschel Bernardi Sings Fiddler on the Roof" back when I was just a wee lass, and I wore that sucker out! Funny, even as a girl, I wanted to play the Mother's role...or even Yenta! And I know what you mean about wanting to be Jewish, we have our suspicions that some parts of our family WERE Jewish way back when in Germany, but converted a few centuries back. Otherwise, I don't know where in the hell my mom got her perfect Jewish Mother-ness.
The bottle dance is wonderful, but I have a special place in my heart for the Russian Dancers in "To Life!"
Now here's the funny part, Josh's favorite movie is "Titanic", but his second favorite is "Fiddler", which one would never suspect!
And I certainly envy you for being able to see Topol in the play...your hubby is a darling to have ensured that you got to see it!
