I feel as though I lost a dear friend. I was so saddened to read of Bea Arthur�s passing today.
It was a routine of my Mom and I, after returning from her Dialysis sessions, to enjoy our lunch together while watching reruns of The Golden Girls. They were our escape from the memories of the clinic, which we frequented 3 times a week, 3 � hours each session. For one hour a day, Mom no longer had medical problems. I would humidly fix lunch, get out the TV trays, and we would sing the show�s theme song together. We were just two best friends, having lunch and sharing a few laughs with our dear friends, �The Golden Girls�.
After Mom passed, I spent hour after hour watching The Golden Girls reruns. They kept me company many sleepless nights. When I felt like my entire world was crumbling around me, they were there to keep me sane, to help me feel �normal� again.
To you, Bea Arthur (and the rest of the cast), I say, �Thank you for Being a Friend�.
